March Sadness
We all do it. Whether it’s at work, your fantasy football league, or even your family, every March we venture into bracketology in hopes of choosing a champion.
Hope is a strong thing. It’s what keeps us moving forward in life but it can also drive us mad. It’s the lack of control of the future that creates this tension. If we could just make things happen how we want them too.
As I sit here on this rainy Monday morning, I’m back where I started. Sitting at 16,920,747th place via my ESPN bracket - I hoped for better. Where did I go wrong?
Of course there was going to be a 12 seed beat a 5 seed, it's March Madness.
Of course there was going to be an upset in the first round, it’s March Madness.
Of course A&M was going to lose in the second round, it’s March Madness.
But in the distance there was a sign of hope. Maybe it’s not all doom and gloom.
If one team rarely lets me down, it’s the North Carolina Tar Heels. Clinging to hope, I still have my champion in the Sweet Sixteen!
Although my heart was crushed in 2022 when the Tar Heels lost in the Natty, I’ve moved on from that. This year, we have a couple of 6th year seniors (thanks Covid), a coach who is swagged out, and the Jordan brand pumping through our veins.
I’m riding with my Tar Heels until the wheels fall off. (Which hopefully isn’t in the next round).
NBA Quick Hit:
With close to 10 games remaining for most teams, things are starting to heat up. The playoff picture is becoming relatively clear in the East and as expected the West is going to be a blood bath.
I still have the same teams in the Finals. It will be the Nuggets vs. Celtics and I’m about 60/40 the Nuggets will repeat. We’ll see if they have the endurance to run it back.
CMC Entertainment:
My mind is starting to build a studio. I’m going to eventually produce a short TV series and a film. Think, two old men who are best friends, trying to maneuver life in small town West Texas. Also, a present day mob in Atlanta, GA led by a young buck who vowed to never enter the business after seeing the life of his father.
We’ll see where things go. Until next time.
Gig Em Tar Heels.
